This torso of a disco thrower reproduces a fragment of the original bronze statue, now lost, created by the Greek sculptor Naucydes in the early 4th century BC. The concentrated look shows the tension that preceded the throw. A reproduction of the whole statue is on display at the Louvre Museum.
